It's quite interesting to take a look at something that is completely familiar, through someone else's eyes. It's amazing what you'll notice for the first time. My parents were visiting on the weekend and my father took his camera with him on a walk through our neighbourhood while the sky was heavy with the promise of rain. I love that the subjects of these photographs are so familiar to me - I walk these streets every day! - yet they feel slightly foreign. It's rather pleasantly unsettling.
